Position Summary

The Compensation Specialist will lead efforts to conduct organizational analyses and develop comprehensive job and salary bands tailored to the dental industry. This role involves evaluating current compensation structures, creating well-defined job classifications, and establishing competitive salary ranges to ensure our compensation practices are fair, equitable, and aligned with industry benchmarks.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:

• Conduct detailed assessments of our dental practice’s organizational structure, job roles, and compensation practices. Analyze current compensation data, job descriptions, and organizational needs to identify areas for enhancement and alignment with dental industry best practices.
• Develop and implement a systematic approach for evaluating and classifying dental related job roles. Ensure that job descriptions accurately reflect the duties and requirements specific to the dental industry and establish a consistent job hierarchy.
• Design and implement job and salary bands based on market research specific to the dental industry. Create clear guidelines for salary ranges and progression to ensure fair and competitive compensation practices for dental professionals and support staff.
• Perform in-depth market research focused on dental industry compensation practices. Analyze salary surveys, compensation trends, and industry data to inform the creation and adjustment of salary bands for various dental roles.
• Develop and update compensation policies and procedures tailored to the dental industry. Ensure that policies comply with relevant regulations and align with the company’s strategic goals.
• Provide detailed reports and presentations on organizational analysis, job classifications, and salary band structures specific to the dental field. Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and other key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with HR and leadership teams to offer expert advice on compensation related matters in the dental industry. Support decision-making processes related to job classifications, salary adjustments, and compensation strategies for dental professionals.
• Assist in the implementation of new compensation structures and policies. Provide training and support to HR teams and managers on new compensation practices and tools tailored to the dental industry.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Compensation Specialist, with a strong background in organizational analysis, job evaluation, and salary band creation within the dental industry. Experience with dental practice compensation structures and industry-specific benchmarks is highly desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) a plus.

Knowledge and Skills/Expected Competencies

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights specific to the dental industry. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and compensation analysis tools. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey findings and recommendations effectively.
• In-depth understanding of compensation principles, job evaluation methodologies, and salary band design within the dental industry. Familiarity with labor laws, compensation regulations, and industry standards specific to dental practices.
• Detail-oriented, strategic thinker with strong organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively with diverse teams in a dynamic environment.

The employee may need to travel to healthcare practices.
